HOW I READ

I don't really read anymore. Before when i was in Jr High I used to read a lot more than i do now. Now I only read when its for an assignment. When I do read I prefer the crime and mysterious books over any other genre. When I read a book from that genre i get hooked instantly. Some books are better than others but I think that everyone knows that. Everyone has their preference and mine happens to be mystery/crime.

HACK TO SCHOOL

QUESTION 1: What is this class about? ANSWER: This is an American Literature class (English class).  Dr. Preston teaches English from a different perspective. QUESTION 2: What is the easiest part of this class? ANSWER: The easiest part of this class is the journals because I feel like its super easy to express your opinion on a topic. QUESTION 3: What is the hardest part of this class? ANSWER: The hardest part for me is keeping up with the posting on my blog. We have to post something almost everyday and the pressure gets to me sometimes. I feel like once i get used to posting it will become easier. QUESTION 4: What have you learned so far? ANSWER: I have learned that each teacher has a different way of teaching a subject. Some methods are great and very helpful while others didn't really work for me. I ended up not really understanding what was taught. QUESTION 5: What was your big question? ANSWER: I asked two questions both having to do with global warming. Does any

TODAY I ASKED A QUESTION

Today in class Dr. Preston told us to post any question we had no matter how random. Two questions came to mind. The first one was: Can we still save our planet? The second one was: Does anyone care about Global Warming? I've been feeling like these topics have been talked about a lot lately. We have a serious problem on our hands that we have to address. The Earth will soon be uninhabitable. More people should start trying to expand the time we have to save Earth. It's sad to think about the fact that humans are killing the biggest blessing ever.

COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES OF A HACKER

The Mentor has his whole message carved out. He knows what he’s going to say and how he wants to say it. His diction is well thought out as well as his syntax. He wants us, the audience, to feel how he feels and that’s a little angry. He doesn’t like that they think we’re all the same when we’re completely different. We understand how he feels. Adults try to understand us teens and try to tell us what we are when they don’t know anything. In his message he mentions how adults/politicians or anyone important build bombs, wage wars, murder and cheat but they call us criminals for being curious.

THE RIGHT TO YOUR OPINION

Like we discussed in class with Dr. Preston I don't believe we fully have freedom of speech. In class Dr. Preston mentioned certain phrases that we aren't allowed to say. An example would be if someone were to threaten the president of the United States and someone important were to be listening to them then they would receive a visit from the secret service. It's not fair but that's the way things are these days.

THE SOCRATIC METHOD

After reading the Socratic Method I understood that it gives students the opportunity to share their ideas and opinions. It also gives them a chance to ask questions and possibly get them answered. Overall its a pretty good system in my opinion.
